The Changing Times

I still remember the day when I with my brother rush to school with a Flag in the chest and joy in our hearts inviting all our friends in my hero ranger to participate in the flag hoisting ceremony at my school. The only day, I went to school with a smile in my face.

The days when we buy liquor a day before, to celebrate the national holiday with my college mates in my friend’s room.

And today, when I use my Head phone to listen to the National Anthem online.

In all these years, I could feel an astonishing change in the way I celebrate Independence Day. But for the feel as an Indian I am always proud of !

Happy Independence Day!

A Day In My Life

Today is nothing special as all other ones and my mobile shows 9.30AM as it does every day. Mohan my room mate is in full attire, ready to leave to his office said "Bye Varun". Replying him, I prepared to get ready though my laziness held me in bed. Then in next 20 min., I am done with all I have to before leaving to office except for my dress and shoes. I have a great confusion in selecting my dress. Not because that I have a good variety of dress to do so but for the few I have is either not pressed or dirty. I will make a clever and a quick selection at last after a great analysis about the day ahead. The next one that I spend lot of time is in selecting my foot wears... Whether to select a casual shoe or a formal one or a slipper... Making such big decisions will eat most of my morning hours and my mobile will now run to 10.30AM. Now I won't have time to walk through the main gate of our vast apartment since it takes 10 more Min. so I will make a clever decision to jump out of the compound while our watchman shouts from there - SAB SAB SAB... Never minding his words, I moved on to the main road and started walking towards the road side shop to get my today’s quota of cigarettes. One in my mouth and another in my pocket I walk towards the office building.

When I enter the office the time is 10.40AM and the canteen is almost empty. With few good mornings and hai's to my recent friends, I enter the canteen to order one plate Poha – my usual breakfast. Now I should rush to my desk as quick as possible not to attend an important meeting or to report my boss... but I have much more important job of sending good morning mails to my dear friends. If I am late in doing so, or if the mail reaches them after 12.00 noon, I will surely get some nice criticism from them for not sending in time. Then I will start checking mails both personal mail box and my personal mails in the office mail box. Replying all my friends, I now have to thing for what job I have to do today and how much time should I take to do the same. Ring Ring...Ring Ring... Ring Ring... Oh My Bava is calling me... he is my Andhra friend who use to teach me Andhra Telugu. Completing his work I continued thinking of what to do when my team mate Narendra pinged me "Go?” When I turned behind my seat, I could find him ready for a short break in the car parking with the cigarette I bought on the way to my office.

At least then I thought to start my work that I planned for today, when Srini my referral visited me... chatting with him along with my work I could spend around one and a half an hour when Sathya pinged me "Lunch?" Oh no I have worked a lot that I don’t even note that the time is 1.30PM so, I went for lunch with my Bava, Srini and Sathya. We have a good time during our lunch which will eat a solid 1+ hours of our time. Back to seat, should search for my friends on line to have a short chat. Continuing my job, I started spending my time interacting with team mates, criticizing others, blaming others, etc when I got a call in my desk phone... "Prabhu Vakil" is what is the name displayed in the screen. I took the phone and said "Can We?" when he replied OK. Then locking my PC started walking towards him when he too moved out of his seat. We both went down to the near by tea shop having a Chai and a Cigarette. Coming back, I had to start continuing my job to end my day...

Now it is around 5.30PM when Aarthi pinged me "Hi Varun". "Hi Aarthi" I started chatting with her discussing about her, me and our friends... This continued for upto 6.30 when she leaves for the day. With the thoughts of all my friends I continued doing my job when my friend from Chennai gave a missed call. I called him back and started scolding him as I always do before speaking to him. He too gave out some sweet words which I could not express out... after which I enquired about Arul, Jain, Prakash, Logu, and all ... when Rajkumar ping me "There?" at around 7.30PM. I replied him as I do daily and we continued speaking about the days work, plans, our blogs, etc... Interrupted by my job up till 8.30 when his cab is ready to move for the day. Now it is time for me too to leave for the day.

This is how I spend my one day life in Pune, though physically far from my friends and family, my friends in no way let me alone here. It is just a matter of few seconds they spend for me makes my stay here worth and my life happy in the mids of some critical situations that I face everyday... I should wish those great companions, on this special and auspicious day,

A Happy Friendship Day!!!

My Favorite Past that I Always Remember...

"(Some Quotes... tried remembering but could not will update once i get it)" Were the words I started with in a Tamil speech competition during my higher secondary schooling... After all I know that these things won't suit me as I don’t have any previous experience, but it was she who made me give name for the competition without any prior experience... I was a good active student THEN... hence I use to think extra ordinary about myself planning to participate in some extra curricular activities (to get some fame). When the Tamil master entered my class that day after noon to collect names for the competitions to be held in Tamil mandram, I felt like some one from me went to him with out my permission and my name was entered in the speech competition. That time I was happy that at least in my life time, I have did a bold job giving my name for the competition. But how can I select the topic, how can I collect notes and how will I submit my rough copy of the speech next Monday? I had lots of thoughts running in my mind the whole day... and even in my dreams;

The next day morning, one of my family-friend came to my home to meet my father. I have met him before when he use to come with my father. He is good in public speaking especially during election. As they speak, my father informed him about my competition. He called me and said that he will take care of preparing the comprehension. Since he is a best speaker (As I know,) I was very happy that I will get the notes any how in next 2 days. All my aim now is to beat her in the competition since I got to know from my friends that she is a good experienced speaker and hence I prepared well too.

And she as I mentioned is my class mate. I won’t speak to her and she is not my friend too. But I always observer her in my class, PT period, on the way to CS tuition center and when I am waiting with my friend for our master in the tuition center and she knows too that I am watching her. She was not a class topper or the world’s beauty but she is to me and she will behave so to me. I thought of giving her a nose cut and surrender her to me. Hence I enrolled my self in the competition. It was Monday now and I went to school with my bunch of comprehension in my hand to submit hoping that I might be the first to submit. That after noon is the day of disaster to my dreams. Each one started speaking in front of the other competitors and most of them did well too… I was confident as I have my papers ready and I am an expert in mugging things until her turn came. I noted her sincerely as she started moving towards the stage when the master read her name.

She started speaking when my confidence and my aim and my hope vanished into her speech. She is a real good speaker and her confidence level remained same as when she was in her seat. “Now how can I speak? Will I be able to speak like her? Is my content good enough to speak in front of her? What is this, it starts with an English proverb and I have come here for a Tamil competition?” lists of questions were running in my mind as she speaks and finally came my turn. Every thing that I prepared were erased out… I am simply a human with a paper bunch in front of my class mates. Don’t know what to do. I am being watched by every one inside that hall and are expecting some thing from me. They don’t know that I am new to this field and what should I do now? How can I inform my master that I am quitting from the competition. Stood in front of my school mates for a while may be half a minute in silence and ended my speech with the words "(Some Quotes... tried remembering but could not will update once i get it)"
